Movement Offerings

"Yoga is a practice that incorporates the mind body paradigm.  In this modern age of postural yoga, we are seeing many different styles each offering their own pathway of awareness and ultimately freedom within body, mind and heart."

Floor Based Yoga
(Vinyasa and Flowing Stretch)

I teach floor based yoga classes that are flavoured with a creative vinyasa vibe.  Essentially vinyasa refers to connecting our movement to breath in a flowing manner.  I also place an emphasis on alignment, energetics and a "bhav" or feeling.  These qualities are enhanced by languaging, themes, peak poses, music, subtle adjustments, breath and sound.

Yin Yoga
(Deep Stretch)

The essence of yin is to slow down.  These classes can vary but they are sure to shift and create change within.  Poses are normally held for 5 mins with integration time in between.  This allows for a deeper release in the fascia of the body, a complex webbing system which work on the various levels of the body from muscles to nerves and organs to bones.  Fascia supports the structure of the body and holds our organs in place.  Opening and strengthening fascia with yin yoga helps to maintain length in our muscles and range of motion.  It improves circulation and increased blood flow.

AntiGravity Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga is a fusion of elements bringing a system that relieves pressure of compressed joints all through your body.  With the support of a yoga hammock or a looped aerial silk, your body can experience levity, decompression in the spine as well as mild traction and hydration of the disks, increased kinesthetic awareness, core strengthening and a tonne of fun while exploring challenge.  Restorative Antigravity will take you on a journey of slowing down as we bring the hammock close to the floor.  Fluid delightful motions will release tensions in the body and spine and is a wonderful way to relieve stress, tension and pressure in mind and body.
